The PA Head Start State Collaboration Office

The HSSSO in Pennsylvania is administered by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) a joint office between the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. It is located within the PA Key office and is staffed by a Director, an Early Childhood Project Manager, and 4 Early Childhood Regional Coordinators.    Click here to visit the PA HSSCO website.

For information about the work and overall goals of Pennsylvania’s HSSCO click here.

The primary focus of the PA HSSCO is the effective implementation of the $40 million in Head Start Supplemental funding (HSSAP). The HSSAP allows Head Start grantees to apply for state funding to provide Head Start services. Click here for more information on the HSSAP.

In addition, the PA HSSCO works with the PHSA to ensure that there is Head Start representation on the many ECE related advisory boards and committees operating at the state level. Click here for a list of these committees and their representatives from the Head Start community.
