4.03 Growing Self-Reliant Communities: Farm to ECE in the context of COVID-19

Presenter: Blair Hyatt

Title: Executive Director

Organization: PA Head Start Association

Workshop Description
Now, more than ever, farm to ECE, including the core elements of food and agriculture education, local food purchasing and gardening can benefit children, families, and providers. ECE providers are struggling to maintain their livelihoods while still trying to provide nurturing support to their young children. At the same time, providers and families may not have access to healthy food amidst the crisis. Join us to learn what Farm to ECE resources and strategies could help you meet the needs of children and families during and after the pandemic. We will take a closer look at Trauma Informed Care strategies and best practices adaptation for the Nutrition and Physical Activity Self-Assessment for Child-Care (NAP SACC).
