Overview:

This 2-part Move2bFree session is designed to enhance the health and well-being of dedicated, hard-working staff who are serving young children and families. It provides various strategies for self-care and actively engages participants in movement, self-reflection, peer to peer learning, and setting individual goals to improve health. This Move2bFree session addresses common issues of overweight and dental disease using concepts from I Am Moving, I Am Learning, the childhood obesity prevention initiative, while incorporating lively music with health messaging from Choosy Kids. 

Virtual Session Learning Objectives:

1.     Rekindle personal joy by reconnecting to self-care through increased movement and physical activity.

2.     Describe how increasing movement and responding to music can energize and transform brain health, supporting self-confidence to model positive attitudes and healthy behaviors for children.

3.     Apply health messaging strategies and activities for stress reduction, healthy nutrition, and oral health in daily routines.

Intended Audience:

  • Head Start and Early Head Start program administrators and staff

  • Early Childhood Education staff

  • Home Visiting staff

  • Community-based service professionals (health providers, family support, etc.)
