1.1 Behavior Has Meaning Part 1

Presenter: Beth Beals

Title: Early Childhood Specialist

Organization: ICF

Workshop Description:
Children let us know what they want and need through their behaviors long before they can verbally express their feelings. When they do not have the words to express how they are feeling, they use behaviors to express themselves. Participants in this session will examine ways that children use behavior to communicate their wants and needs, intentions and emotions and will identify ways that adults can effectively respond to children's communicative attempts. This session will engage learners with lecture, use of video examples, and large and small group activities.
