Workshop Description
The prenatal and postpartum period of a mother and baby's life is critical. The care and protection that the duad receives impacts both mental health and physical health. Families that face barriers such as poverty, substance misuse, domestic violence, etc are at high risk during this period. This can have life long effects. In this course we will look at the statistics involved and discuss strategies to implement in services to help better serve our families. I will use PowerPoint, large group discussion, small group discussion, videos, and role play to facilitate the session.
