National Center on Early Childhood Development, Teaching and Learning Facilitator Bios

Roselia Ramirez holds an Education Specialist doctorate degree in Early Childhood and is an accomplished professional with over 25 years of diverse experience in the field of early childhood development and education. Roselia, a Senior Training and Technical Assistance Specialist at the National Center for Early Childhood Development Teaching and Learning (DTL) is highly skilled in the spectrum of program options which include Head Start center-based, home-based, family childcare, school district developmental preschools and early intervention services. Roselia has expertise related to a wide range of areas focused on teaching practices and improving school readiness and outcomes for children and families. Throughout the course of her career, she has worked with diverse communities of varying socio-economic status, language, religious and ethnic backgrounds which have included tribal and migrant/seasonal programs.

Joyce Escorcia is a Senior Training and Technical Assistance Specialist with over a decade of early childhood experience. Her experience includes over three years advancing the Practice-Based Coaching efforts for the National Center on Early Childhood Development Teaching and Learning (NCECDTL). Joyce’s passion for helping and empowering others and for making a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable guides her personally as well as her work within early childhood.
Melisa Jaen is a Senior Training and Technical Specialist at the National Center on Early Childhood Development, Teaching, and Learning.  With over 18 years of experience in the early childhood education field, she has extensive experience providing training and technical assistance to early childhood professionals in Head Start/EHS and child programs at the state, regional and national level.  Melisa has a master’s degree in Early Childhood Educational Leadership and Administration at the University of Denver. Melisa combines her passion and knowledge to support Head Start, child care and family child programs to deliver comprehensive, high-quality individualized services that enhance school readiness of children.
Adriana Bernal works for the National Center on Early Childhood Development, Teaching, and Learning as a Senior Training &Technical Assistance Specialist. She holds several degrees in Early Childhood Education and Development, Infant and Toddler Development, including a Certification in the Program for Infants and Toddlers Care (PITC). She holds a Master of Education in Special Education -Early Childhood Special Education, a bachelor’s degree in ECE with a minor in Sociology and Family Studies, and an Associate of Arts on Early Childhood Education, and Infant and Toddler Development. She has experience working with Head Start, Early Head Start and Migrant/Seasonal Head Start programs. She has direct experience working with center based, home based, and family child care program options, as well as providing early intervention for infants and toddlers with special needs in her community.
