Blair Hyatt joined Pennsylvania Head Start Association as the Executive Director in 2004. His professional and community work has focused on improving the lives of young people and their families. He graduated with a Master’s in Social Work degree from Temple University’s School of Social Administration. Prior to PHSA, Blair was the Manager of Family and Community Partnerships for Philadelphia Parent Child Center, Inc. He has also taught parenting skills, started a parenting center, helped start a therapeutic nursery for preschool age children and built a model “wrap-around” services program.

Kara joined PHSA in 2018. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Greensboro with a bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Dynamics with Teaching Certification. Her career has blended the growth and development of staff, advocacy on the behalf of families and children, non-profit operations and community leadership. Kara has worked in three Early Head Start/Head Start programs and two curriculum companies, ran a non-profit, provided consulting services and taught first grade. She and her family live in Hanover.
Laura Imschweiler joined the PHSA staff in October, 2019. She jumped into the professional field right out of High School and has acquired a strong background in facilitating and managing projects through customer service and accounting positions. She holds a strong passion for helping others, which can be reflected in her prior roles as a patient advocate and team leader. She is a driven individual who demonstrates compassion and kindness within her professional life as well as her personal life. She and her family currently live in Harrisburg.
